June’s Artist of the Month is Jillian Lotz.

My art is a source of balance in my life, as it gives me the opportunity to play out my inner inspirations. Using a combination of photography, pencil sketching, and digital manipulation I make the realm of shapes, symbols, and color, my playground. The synergy between movement and light brings my imaginative process to life.
When I'm creating I love to use the human form. Whether it is a figure I have drawn or a photograph I have taken, the human shape allows me to explore emotion, relationship, movement of energy, and to me, also suggests the transcendence of time.
Every image I create is a reflection upon an aspect of my ongoing spiritual journey. For this reason I enjoy the use of body posture, facial expression, symmetry, and celestial illumination to express communion with spirit. Each moment that I spend with my art is an experiment. Vision comes to me as I progress with each piece, and never know what kind of world will emerge from the screen. It brings me the most joy when I recognize that a piece of my soul has peered through the veil of human consciousness and become manifest.
