 Patricia
A. Allen is an accomplished watercolorist with over a decade’s
experience as a full-time working artist.
Allen studied in the Art Department of the University of California
at Santa Cruz, and received a BA degree from St. Mary’s College in
Moraga California. Her accolades include signature status in the
Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and membership in the
Watercolor USA Honor Society. Her paintings have won awards in many
national shows, and are included in corporate and private collections in
the United States and Canada.
 The
artist states; “I take delight in reducing landscape to shapes of
intuitive color. My work
begins en plein air without intending a realistic rendering, but rather, a
very personal response to capture a sense of place.
I then complete the semi-abstract painting in my studio using mixed
water media, for interpretations that are visually exciting.
My goal is to paint unique and individual works on paper using
stylization and mindful design. The
unpredictability of transparent and opaque water media paint facilitates
my creativity, and challenges me with its endless possibilities for
expression.
